Dr. Gupta is a board-certified pediatrician with 17 years of experience. She is currently a clinical attending at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.

As a junior faculty member, Dr. Gupta was introduced to the world of food allergies by a local Chicago family. What she found was a condition that was deeply under researched and growing in diagnoses amongst children.

With almost 20 years of research behind her, she has written and co-authored over 150 peer-reviewed research manuscripts, and has had her work featured on major TV networks and in print media. She speaks to a global audience to share her research with experts and families, and as a physician, food allergy researcher, and food allergy mom, her driving passion is to improve the lives of children and their families through discovery, clinical care, outreach, and education.

Dr. Gupta is the founding director of the Center for Food Allergy & Asthma Research at Northwestern University & Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

Dr. Gupta’s worlds collided when her daughter, Riya, was three years old and experienced a severe allergic reaction after being exposed to her brother’s peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
